Thanks guys. I managed to remove the center console trim just by prying up and out towards the back. There are 4 torx screws to remove the shifter switch console. Then 4 more smaller torx to remove the idrive controller. There are 4 tabs to unlock through the bottom and then you push up and the controller comes out top.
